Mangala de Zoysa

Born and raised at Randombe, Ambalangoda in the Southern coast of Sri Lanka, Mangala de Zoysa earned his B.Sc.Agriculture degree from the University of Peradeniya in 1982. After joining the Department of Agricultural Economics of the then newly established University of Ruhuna, he contributed to the growth and sustainability of the academic programs. Mangala earned his Ph.D. in forest economics from Tokyo University in 1996. Mangala was awarded several prestigious academic fellowships including, Australian Endeavor, JSPS Invitation Fellowship from Japan and Commonwealth Academic Fellowship. Mangala is currently a Professor in Agricultural Economics and the Dean Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna.
